Section 01
Overview
Menujoys is a menu discovery platform. We collect the smallest amount of information needed to run the service: form submissions, basic site analytics, and account data when restaurants claim listings. We do not sell personal information, and we do not run advertising networks on the site.
The short version: we collect what you give us, what helps us understand traffic in aggregate, and the technical bits a website needs. We don't sell your data. We don't run ads. We use the smallest set of cookies that keeps the site useful.
Section 02
Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Contact form: name, email, message, and any details you choose to share.
- Suggest-update form: optional name, email, and the update content.
- Add-your-menu form: business contact details, restaurant information, and an optional menu file.
- Claim-listing form: ownership-verification details, role, business email, optional verification document.
- Newsletter signup (footer): email only.
Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps).
- Aggregate analytics (page views, referring sites, broad geography).
- Cookies set by Menujoys (see Section 06) for session, preference, and analytics purposes.
Section 03
How We Use Information
- To respond to your messages and process update / claim submissions.
- To verify ownership before granting restaurant claim access.
- To improve the site, fix bugs, and understand which content is useful.
- To detect abuse, spam, or harmful activity.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not use personal data to build advertising profiles. We do not enrich it from third-party data brokers.
Section 04

| Legal compliance | Legal obligation |
Section 05
Sharing & Sub-processors
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site (hosting, analytics, email, error tracking).
- Restaurant owners — only when an update or claim is clearly addressed to them.
- Authorities, when required by law.

Cookies in Detail
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Menujoys uses three categories:
- Essential cookies — required for site functions like form submission and security. These cannot be turned off.
- Preference cookies — remember small choices (banner dismissed, regional preference).
- Analytics cookies — help us understand which menus and cities people explore most, in aggregate.
No advertising cookies. Menujoys does not run third-party advertising networks or sell visitor data to advertisers.

Managing Cookies
You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- See which cookies are stored.
- Delete cookies for a specific site.
- Block third-party cookies.
- Use private / incognito mode for a session-only experience.
Blocking essential cookies may stop forms from working as expected. We aim to keep our consent banner short — accept all, reject non-essential, or fine-tune by category.
Section 08
Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct — fix anything inaccurate.
- Delete — ask us to remove your data when there's no overriding need to keep it.
- Restrict — limit how we process your data.
- Object — including objecting to legitimate-interest processing.
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent — for any processing based on consent (newsletter, optional cookies).
- Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection authority.
To make a request, write to us via the contact form with the details we need to verify your identity. We aim to respond within 30 days.

Some sub-processors operate outside your home country. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and adequacy decisions where they apply. EU/UK personal data is hosted on EU-region infrastructure where possible.
Section 11
